Labor, Tools, Materials, or Money
This summer's studio represents our first step towards establishing a regular, community-based design build presence in Asheville. The goal is to draw young minds already here and outside the area to help think creatively, proactively and collaboratively with the many communities that call Asheville and the surrounding region home.
As this is our inaugural studio, we are working hard on raise money, solicit material donations and salvage materials. While we are ready to break ground in a few days, we are still in active need of some financial help to pay for some of the building costs of the project. Overall, we are hoping to raise $5000.
To make this studio a success, I am asking you to consider making a donation to help support this endeavor. Your donation will help in a number of ways by:
1) assisting to build a physical space to support critical teaching and education of young people about significant community issues
2) enhancing the development of young designers and builders to better understand community and real-world dynamics as well as how structures are actually put together.
3) building the foundation for a program that will likely grow and develop in the coming years.
To donate and help support this project:
1) Send a check made out to the Asheville Design Center with Design-Build in the memo line to:
